The 2013 SkillsUSA Esthetics Competition is upon us and we the technical committee, are seeking donations for awarding the winners, contestants, and models of the annual competition this June at the at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, MO.
More than 1,000 corporations, labor unions and trade associations support SkillsUSA programs at the national level. However, very few companies, and, organizations support the Esthetics competition alone.
The annual Esthetics competition consists of evaluating each contestant’s preparation for employment and to recognize outstanding students for excellence and professionalism in the field of esthetics across all fifty states. The competition includes the following in which all contestants are scored upon: Kit check, Facial Massage, Basic Facial, Written Test, Oral Assessment, Daytime Make-up Application and Fantasy Make-up.
We are seeking donated awards for six overall winners; among the Post-Secondary and Secondary categories. Thus, awards would be appreciated for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for both categories.
Awards and donations may include, but are not limited to any material or supplies new esthetic graduates may need when beginning their career *(For example: back bar of professional products, professional skincare tools, waxing products and tools, makeup supplies, treatment room supplies, accessories or equipment.)
In 2012, awards were donated by organizations such as Dermalogica, Milady a division of Cengage Learning, Rhonda Allison, Associated Skin Care Professionals, Bio-Therapeutic, Inc., SpaBizSolutions, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques & Spa Magazine, and, Eve Pearl.
Additionally, we are seeking donations for the competition floor. Examples include facial treatment beds a school may no longer use so more than 6 competitors can participate at one time, or, makeup stations to improve the competitors’ ergonomics and , viewing for judges, and so on.
So, if you are interested in sponsoring or becoming involved, please let me know. We will display your company’s banners or promotional material within the competition floor. Your company’s name will also be included in the program.
